ABOUT
ABOUT ME
I have the privilege of helping my clients better understand themselves and their experiences in order to live with more fullness and greater awareness. I work with adults (age 18+) to better navigate relationship and interpersonal concerns. I also enjoy helping my clients learn to effectively manage stress and anxiety.
My style is warm and empathic. I aim to foster safe, supportive relationships. I use a holistic approach that includes relational, emotion-focused, and cognitive-behavioral practices. I also strive to understand and affirm clients in all aspects of their identities, including culture, religion, and sexual orientation.
I have expertise in working with clients of Middle Eastern descent, with a scholarly and experiential understanding of the unique needs of peoples from these various cultures.
I have spent much of my career dedicated to serving a spectrum of underserved communities. I believe mental healthcare should be accessible. Accordingly, I reserve a number of spots for sliding scale clients who are unable to afford my full fee.

THE GUEST HOUSE
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
